The Tomaree Peninsula-based community choir will host its first major concert since 2020 in Soldiers Point on Friday, April 1 for seniors (those aged 60 and above).
"Our last major concert was the seniors concert two years ago, right before COVID-19 shut everything down. It's fitting that our first concert back will also be for seniors," said SeaSide Singers president Wayne Livermore.
It has been a long two years for the ensemble, whose 35 members have been unable to sing together due to COVID-19 and restrictions placed on gatherings and singing throughout the pandemic.
Practices with limited numbers resumed in November 2021 and the choir was able to get together in December when restrictions were pulled back to sing at retirement villages in the Port.
The ensemble will get together for an afternoon of singing, socialising and afternoon tea in the Seascapes Room of Soldiers Point Bowling Club on April 1, from 2pm.
"You will love our selection of old favourites and new classics so please show your support, come along and have a good time with us," said the choir's longtime member, Diana Souter.
The cost to attend is a gold coin. Afternoon tea is provided. Masks are optional but proof of vaccination is required to attend.
To book a spot, phone the club on (02) 4982 7173 the SeaSide Singers on 0412 181 043.
New members are welcome to join the choir.
