Following seven years as president of the 20-year-old radio station, Bob McKay decided to call it a day.
However, those who enjoy Mr McKay's Monday morning segment can still do so with the retiree opting to stay on as a presenter.
"It does involve a lot on community interaction. I interview many people in the community," said Mr McKay.
"I'll continue to be involved in the station."
Taking on the top job will be George Anderson, the voice behind Friday morning's chat with fishing identity John "Stinker" Clarke.
"Bob was president for [seven] years, but decided to step back," Mr Anderson said.
"It is a fairly strenuous position with a lot of responsibility."
Mr Anderson joined the station seven years ago after retiring as a Woolworths executive.
A distinctive voice and a suggestion that he could be good at presenting led him towards the radio station.
After assisting Mr McKay with marketing, as well as hosting his own segment, which he will continue to do, now Mr Anderson will be responsible for the station's overall management.
The community radio station has a committee of eight, 44 volunteer presenters and administration staff and helpers.
On taking up the top job, Mr Anderson said no changes would be made in the immediate future.
"Nothing will really change, except new leadership at the top," Mr Anderson said.
Next for the station will be Australia Day when it sets up at Fly Point Park to broadcast the celebrations.
