More than 200 Masters swimmers and supporters descended on Tea Gardens Swimming Pool on Saturday, February 8, for the first carnival held by the Myall Masters.
Paul Bailey, of Sydney, who attends at least 20 Myall Masters swimming meets a year throughout the state, said he was impressed with the carnival.
"It is the best meet I have ever been to," he said.
"An absolutely beautiful location and Leon Bobako and his troops did an amazing job organising and running the meet.
"There were lots of favourable comments made by swimmers. We're hoping there are many more meets at Tea Gardens."
Myall Masters publicity officer Rhonda Bobako said the feeling of pride and joy was tangible on the faces of club members as they celebrated the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the Myall Masters Swimming Club.
She said it was 12 months of planning which culminated in a perfectly run carnival.
"Club members ensured that the pool buildings were in tip top condition by holding a working bee at the pool on Friday afternoon and adding homely touches to the change rooms, which were appreciated by our visitors," she said.
"The pool glistened in the sunshine. Colourful marquees, bunting and balloons created a festive backdrop to the action in the pool."
Myall Masters members must have been uplifted by the occasion, with strong swims. Myall Masters topped off the day by winning the point score for the carnival.
The carnival also drew interest from the community with people coming to lend support and to witness Masters Swimming motto of Fun, Fitness and Friendship in action.
