The couple were married in a Camperdown, Sydney, church on August 6, 1955.
They will celebrate the milestone with about 50 people including their four children Mark, Leanne, Jennifer and Christopher, 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, other family and friends at Club Lemon Tree on Saturday night.
The couple may be most recognisable from their days of working at Raymond Terrace Bowling Club.
Mrs Lewis worked at the club for 18 years, and Mr Lewis 14 years.
They lived in Williamtown, where Mr Lewis worked for the air force, before moving to Raymond Terrace for eight years then to Tanilba Bay where they have lived for 33 years.
It was while in the navy, before switching uniforms to the air force, and in Casino that Mr Lewis first spotted Margaret walking down the street.
Without arranging it, they met at a dance later that night, however, they were not to see each other for another 12 months.
They met up again at a dance in Sydney.
They dated for 12 months before marrying and soon had their first son, Mark.
As well as living in Port Stephens, they lived in Melbourne and Malaya - wherever Mr Lewis was posted during his 21 years' service in the armed forces.
Mrs Lewis said they have lived a "good life".
"There's been some ups and downs, like all marriages," she said.
"You just have to take one day at a time.
"You don't run out on the first argument."
