Dreamed up by Marg Allan and Jenny Dobbie from the school's P&C, Shakin' It Up at the Anna Bay Hall of Fame will feature every student from kindergarten through to year 6.
There will be a core cast of about 12 students who will take on similar personas of well-known and beloved book characters.
"Anna Bay Public School is famous for its creative arts and love for performing," Allan said.
"We thought we had enough talented people to write, produce and direct the play plus we have got some very talented children who are very keen performers."
Allan said the inclusion of all children was a way to develop confidence and performance skills across the student body.
The play is set at Anna Bay Public School. An earthquake shakes the town and all the books in the library fall off the shelves, freeing a bunch of characters from the pages.
A Wild Thing, a pig with attitude and Waldo are set loose and need to try and work out if they need a hero to help.
The play will be performed on Thursday, September 10 at 7pm and at 12.15pm and 7pm on Friday, September 11.
Tickets, available at the front office only, cost $13.50.
