Members of Marine Rescue Port Stephens will travel to Taree on May 23 to watch the launch onto the Manning River.
The replacement vessel has been anointed the John Thompson and will have the operational name Port Stephens 31.
The custom made Steber is considered an $850,000 investment in advanced marine search and rescue technology.
Port Stephens 31 will be welcomed into its home port by a flotilla of local vessels to be led by Nelson Bay Water Police and including other emergency services, commercial fishing vessels and the recreational boating community on June 4.
Rescue boats from Marine Rescue Port Stephens and Marine Rescue Lemon Tree Passage will be open for public Inspection that day at D'Albora Marina.
