Poetry Cafe aims to showcase the work of poets from near and far, experienced or not, at the open mic event.
Equally, people can simply sit back and enjoy.
“Poetry is written to be heard,” poet and organsier Dael Allison said.
“This is a wonderful chance for first time readers to present their work in a supportive environment, and to hear other poets. And it is free.”
Internationally recognised poet Kit Kelen performed at the first Poetry Cafe, in May. This Saturday award winning Sydney poet Julie Chevalier is the featured guest.
Poetry Cafe kicks off 2pm, Saturday July 30, at Cellars Cafe in Market St, Fingal Bay.
