After a fun-filled Christmas luncheon with lots of fellowship and dancing, the fishing group and friends have already had a “back to work” long lunch before the serious throwing in of lines starts in February.
Australia Day was celebrated with the usual late afternoon family picnic at Sunset Beach where, thankfully, there was a cooler breeze.
Most members were decked out in fun Australia Day stuff with Kerry and John Cordiner the most impressive.
These sort of days are lots of fun with plenty of chatting and catching up with friends after Christmas festivities.
February will bring all the usual activities such as walking, social bowls, movie night, barbecue back on the agenda with lots of other events in the planning for the coming months.
This club has an ever increasing membership with something for everyone.
Port Stephens Probus Club welcomes singles and couples who are semi or fully retired to attend to a meeting.
Meetings are held the second Thursday of the month from 9.30am at Nelson Bay Bowling Club.
For more information, check out the club’s website: probusclubofportstephens.org.
Nelson Bay Bowling Club’s free learn to bowl program will pick back up on February 2.
The program runs each Saturday morning 9.30am to 11.30am.
All are welcome to head along.
All you need is a pair of flat shoes or thongs.
Bare feet is also acceptable. Bowls are supplied.
Participants that head along learn how to play, about bowls and the rules.
Most of all it is fun.
