Legatees, Torchbearers, Tomaree High School students and Williamtown RAAF Base personnel will be selling badges, pens and uniformed defence bears across Port Stephens between September 2 and 6 for Legacy Badge Week.
"The week is a coordinated, annual national event held to raise awareness and funds for families of our incapacitated and deceased veterans," Doug Jacka, Legacy Port Stephens chairman, said.
"With more than 240 widows and children in the Port Stephens area, funds raised will assist with essential services such as counselling, medical, advocacy and social support."
On September 8, the 13th annual Legacy Band Concert will take place at Tomaree Education Centre Hall in Salamander Bay.
Musical director David Thompson and the Australian Army Band Newcastle, featuring the popular pipes and drums sections, will travel to the Bay to entertain the community and celebrate the spirit of Legacy week.
"Last year's amazing performance involved choreographed marching, with the band criss-crossing the area in front of the stage while playing contemporary music designed to appeal to all ages," Mr Jacka said.
"The pipes and drums sections were, as always, stirring.
"Everyone present agreed it was the best show ever and the 2019 show promises to be even better."
The Nelson Bay PCYC concert band will kick off the proceedings at 1.30pm.
The Army band will follow at 2pm.
