Fifty-two years 7 and 8 sports students and three teachers, including James Welch, head of PD/H/PE at the school, turned out to Horizons Golf Resort on Thursday, November 21 for a FootGolf workshop with a world champion in the sport - Matias Perrone.
Perrone, from Argentina, took the students around the fairways being used last week when Horizons hosted the FootGolf Asia Cup and FIFG 250 World Tour.
Perrone, the tournament director for the Asia Cup, said he is passionate about encouraging young people to get involved in FootGolf.
After trying the sport, students had the opportunity to get signatures from the players and watch the individual final, which was won by Japanese player Tsubasa Yasumura.
The Asia Cup will return to Port Stephens in 2021.
