Residents are invited to knit and crochet designs that will be installed across the region helping to regain a sense of community, creativity and connection for all involved.
Port Stephens Council engagement coordinator Amber Herrmann says the simple act of crafting will help promote conversation and connection for those who need it.
"Crafters of all levels can take part and submit their finished creations to council's libraries, administration building or visitor information centre no later than Monday, August 17."
