It came as a bit of a blow, she said, after finally achieving her dream of opening her own clinic, one outside of a doctor's practice.
"It was like having to start all over again," Mrs Baumann said.
The doors to the Countrywide Mobile Ultrasound (CMU) clinic in Medowie are open again and available to anyone requiring the service but do not want to travel to Maitland or Newcastle to access it.
CMU is currently open at its Abundance Road location on Thursday mornings, 8.15am to 12.15pm. This could change depending on demand for the service.
Mrs Baumann has been a sonographer for more than 20 years and providing her services through CMU for the past five years. CMU is available at certain times and locations through the week.
It is available at Lemon Tree Medical Practice on Wednesdays.
Seeing how quickly her hometown is expanding, Mrs Baumann said she wanted to offer a more permanent ultrasound clinic to Medowie's medical service offering.
"People are travelling further than necessary to get a service that we can provide right here in Medowie," she said. "Medowie is growing every day. Having an ultrasound clinic right here that not only will take referrals for any clinic but also bulk bills is a big plus."
The clinic does accept walk ins but only with a referral. Phone: (02) 4946 7706.
