Tilli, a 3m by 3m tapestry, is the result of a dedicated team effort involving a range of community groups and some 60 volunteers over two months.
Project coordinator Wendy Seddon said that the artwork was made up of 250 squares from an assortment of colours and material comprising acrylic, wool, cotton and bamboo, knitted or crocheted together.
"The four panels were sewed together by a group of Tilligerry Habitat volunteers against a plastic lattice boarding and displayed in Henderson Park."
Tilligerry Community Association's Fran Corner thanked the Port Stephens Council for putting together the 'Have a Yarn' project from various government grants. The aim of the program was to reduce social isolation experienced as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
