Due to COVID-19, it was not certain whether the event could go ahead this year.
Raymond Terrace Bowling Club, owners of the Old Rectory where the Norfolk pine Christmas tree is located and hosts of the annual carols event, said the show would go on as is tradition at the end of November.
The noticeable differences to the event this year was that there was no visit from Santa or live caroling from children.
Instead this year, the Jumpin' Jukebox Trio provided the caroling. The trio sang and recited the Christmas Story between 6pm and 8pm.
At 8pm, when it was finally dark, the child who won the raffle to turn the Christmas tree lights on did so.
While attendance to the annual tree lighting and caroling event was down on previous years, there was still plenty of Christmas spirit to be seen.
