Since 1940, when the ship sank and rolled on her side in a storm, the wreck has attracted fish including snapper, sharks and in particular mulloway.
Simply referred to as the 'Wreck', the old ship has long been the focus of fishers targeting big fish. Anchoring can become a problem if you are not familiar with the angle and exact position of the wreck.
The Psyche has a very interesting history. Built in England in 1897 the 95-metre lightweight cruiser sank some 20 years later. The rusting remains of the Psyche lie around four metres below the surface between Corlette Point and Salamander Bay.
