A couple of weeks back I mentioned that I would like to see more women on the water fishing and I suggested that they could match their brothers if they give it a go.

Lemon Tree Passage champion, Lea, told me that she caught a fish that was worth recalling.
It was only recently when she battled a mighty blue fin tuna which take off like the last bus to Bobs Farm.
Chasing snapper in rough conditions, nothing was happening so it was decided to set up a live slimy mackerel.
Immediately - Woompah!
The light line screamed under the extreme pressure.
Crack! Gone.
Try again, with the same method.
Another slimy, same result - zzzzzzzzing.
This time the line held.
The race was on as the tinny chased the monster on the other end before all the line was stripped from the reel.
The on-water conditions worsened and the tinny was rocking and rolling forcing Lea to kneel on the deck so as not to lose balance.
Twenty minutes later and the 25.3kg thumper was hauled on board.
What an effort.
Just about everyone in Lemon Tree had a feed.
Not a scrap was wasted.
Women can catch fish, too!
