Members past and present travelled from as far afield as the Central Coast to join together to enjoy a meal, chat and friendship. Nelson Bay CWA Day Branch members also joined the luncheon, including soon to be state treasurer Sharyn Buck.
The evening branch was formed in 1971 after Adele Dart, a Nelson Bay day branch member, could see a need for an evening branch. Since then, members have enthusiastically participated in cake stalls, fashion parades, Bunnings barbecues and Australia Day parades and have raised funds for local, national and international projects.
Life member Carol Vincent told funny stories at the luncheon.
The year's calendar includes hopes for a book sale, fashion parade and Christmas in July, as well as some joint functions with the Nelson Bay Branch.
