Cafe manager Pauline Daniel said she has seen firsthand the "devastating impact" that COVID19 has had on customers in the past 18 months and wanted to do something to help.
She has launched a GoFundMe campaign online and is seeking to raise at least $1500 to continue cooking meals for those in the community who are struggling to feed themselves.
"So many of my customers have shared heart felt stories of losing their jobs and struggling to feed their families," Ms Daniel said.
"Seniors and vulnerable members of our community are in isolation and struggling in silence, unable to leave their home.
"This has inspired me to start a GoFundMe campaign to help feed the less fortunate members of our community by preparing fresh meals as part of a daily food drive.
"From as little as $5, you can provide someone with a healthy, substantial meal. $30 will provide food for a family of four for a whole day. All donations will go towards helping those less fortunate within our area.
"The team at Fibonacci Cafe will provide fresh and healthy meal options to our neighbours in need - at no charge to them. We want to help ease the daily stress and anxiety they are experiencing. This campaign will also help keep my staff employed and most importantly, give back to our community."
About 120 meals were cooked up at the cafe located in Raymond Terrace MarketPlace on August 18 and distributed across Port Stephens and Newcastle. A further 80 meals were cooked up and distributed on August 27.
Eighty meals are collected by Raymond Terrace Lions Club and distributed through the Parish Pantry run by St John's Anglican Church and Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Service.
As of Tuesday, Fibonacci had raised $790. To donate go to gofundme.com/f/help-us-help-our-community-through-covid.
