The event is set to take place on Monday, March 17, at the Foster Library.
The day will highlight simple and fun ways to exercise together with a cooking demonstration to show how easy it is to cook some healthy, easy meals.
Keith Pearce, a 76-year-old Great Lakes triathlete and cancer survivor, will also be talking about how he stays motivated.
"Obesity and chronic disease such as type 2 diabetes are on the increase," the Great Lakes council's community services co-ordinator, Lyndie Hepple, said.
"Making small improvements to diet and levels of physical activity can have a big impact on our health.
"We hope that the exercise and cooking demonstrations planned for the day will help our seniors make some changes to benefit their health."
The event will take place from 10am to 1.30pm at the library. Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Space is limited, so it is important to call the council's community services section on 6591 7219 to book.
