The complex, home to the Newcastle MG Car Club, hosted more than 100 racers on the weekend for the 2014 National Hillclimb Championship.
A few wipeouts during the practice lap saw 104 vie for the crown during Saturday and Sunday.
Newcastle MG Car Club publicity officer Peter Robinson, who also raced with his daughter in the championship, said it went "famously well".
"All went very well," he said.
"I think everyone was happy as they could be.
"Competitors loved the new track and said they want to come back."
Oastler, who was the favourite to win, took out the championship with the fastest time of the weekend - 32.86 seconds.
Victorian Brett Hayward, who was another hot favourite, came in second with a time of 33.46 seconds.
Robinson said the time gap between first and second was a big margin, especially in hillclimb racing.
Victorian Greg Ackland (with a time of 34.36 seconds) finished third.
Keith Hammond, from Medowie, produced the best result for the Newcastle MG Car Club.
He came in 14th overall with a time of 37.46.
"In this competition, that is brilliant," Robinson said.
Behind Hammond came the club's Ben Morley in 19th place and Bill McBride was 21st.
Robinson himself finished 23rd with a time of 39.21 while daughter Elizabeth came in 25th with a time of 39.80.
The hot weather on Saturday meant that audience numbers were down this year but otherwise the event was deemed a success.
