For a second year, a mystery sand sculptor created an Anzac tribute on the beach beside d'Albora Marina in Nelson Bay.
This year the Anzac Day service at the Knitting Circle Memorial in Seaham was guarded by an all girl catafalque party.
Fiona Lyon said there was “excellent attendance from the community” and included participation from the RAAF, RSL, Port Stephens MP Kate Washington, councillor Ken Jordan, Seaham school children, RFS, pre-school and Scouts.
“The Scouts hosted a huge morning tea at the nearby Seaham Weir Park,” Ms Lyon said.
“The ceremony was lead by Alan Earle, aided by Bruce Line on trumpet and Caroline Hill who lead the singing.”
