Having sustained a pectoral tear in round seven the Origin half back was just days out of sling when he spoke the Examiner and hopeful of beginning physio soon.
“I’m looking forward to Men of League,” Pearce said.
“Allan Bell has been a good mentor of mine, living up that way, so I’m eager to be involved.”
Pearce answered the call after Les Johns (Newcastle Souths, Canterbury-Bankstown) had to bow out of the evening.
Knights stalwalt Ashley Gordon and the league’s former big boss John Quayle dovetail Pearce as special guests.
“I’ve always enjoyed giving back, throughout my career,” Pearce, 29, said.
“I enjoy being part of the community and I’m looking forward to this. I enjoy speaking to all the past players and hearing their stories because you can always learn something.”

Its not Pearce’s first or even second time to the Bay. Many fans got their first glimpse of Pearce in the red and blue at Tomaree Sports Complex in February as part of a training camp.
But few will know that Peace has enjoyed a little sight seeing here. And hopes to do more.
“My girlfriend and I have taken a drive up there for a look,” he said.
“It’s a beautiful place. I’m hopeful we can return soon with my family for a look around.”
In recent weeks he’s watched his team mates closely from the sideline and offered insights where possible.
“I’m trying to see the glass as half full,” he said.
“It’s been an opportunity to see them play from a different perspective as a leader and someone who can have a bit of input.”
He’s hopeful he can rejoin them in round 18 or 19.
“That would give us a good crack at the back end of the season,” he said.
The dinner at Nelson Bay Golf Club begins at 6pm and will cost $60 per person to attend. It includes a two-course meal. There will be a band, raffles and a silent auction on the night.
