It is only the second one recovered after the YM Efficiency lost 83 containers overboard on June 1.
Debris from the lost containers has been washing up on Port Stephens beaches and further north.
The the clean-up effort, led by Roads and Maritime Services, continued through the long weekend. It has so far spanned more than 8,000 employee hours and collected more than 600 cubic metres of debris.
“There are now more than 120 people, two helicopters and several vessels, who have joined the operation,” an RMS statement on social media said.
“We can confirm the remains of the container are not a navigational hazard to vessel operators at this point in time.”
Local community members who are interested in knowing more about the YM Efficiency incident and the surrounding clean up effort can attend one of two public information sessions.
Sessions will be held at 6pm on Wednesday June 13 at Wests Nelson Bay and 10am Thursday June 14 at the Baptist Church Tea Gardens.
