POLICE in Port Stephens are seeking public help after a cyclist was left in critical condition following an alleged hit-and-run in Seaham, north of Raymond Terrace.

The 18-year-old cyclist was riding with two others on Cross Street about 1am on Saturday near the intersection of Clarence Town Road.
The teenager was struck from behind by the driver of a dark-coloured four-wheel drive that allegedly failed to stop at the scene.
The man suffered serious head injuries. He was taken to Maitland Hospital and later conveyed to the John Hunter Hospital on the Sunday for emergency surgery.
Police said he remains in a critical condition.
Investigators from the Port Stephens/Hunter police district are examining the circumstances around the crash and would like to speak to anyone with information.
