The skate park - along with a new family playground, public toilet and car park - is part of the $1.67 million upgrade to the park's recreational facilities.
The upgrade aims to create attractive, multi-purpose facilities that the community can enjoy and is in keeping with the site's cultural significance.
A council spokesperson said that it had been successful in securing funding from the NSW Government under the Stronger Country Communities Fund that will go towards implementing the Birubi Point Aboriginal Place masterplan.
"The council will also contribute to the project, bringing the total funds to $1,670,000. Stage 1 will also see council deliver a viewing platform on Birubi Headland and beach amenities in Ocean Avenue Reserve."
Following an extensive community consultation process, the concept design for the facility upgrades has been finalised and signed off by the council.
All members of the public are welcome to view the concept plans at the Seaside Scavenge on March 16. People can register their interest by completing a short survey at haveyoursay.portstephens.nsw.gov.au or call 4988 0405.
Registrations are open until March 15. The detailed design is expected to be completed by August with construction to commence in October, 2019.
