And since Real Women of Port Stephens (RWoPS) was established some nine months ago, things have been happening at a rapid pace with the group attracting in excess of 2200 Facebook members, 1000 Instagram followers and there's no signs of slowing down.
"I am constantly amazed by the talent and inspiration of the women of Port Stephens," said Ms Quantrell, a self-made Port Stephens publisher who is earning the reputation of being 'a way-shower'.
"My initial concept was to set up a forum for all women, not just businesswomen, to build relationships, find connections and tell their stories in a private space that is not subject to public scrutiny.
"It's rather humbling for me, because I am by nature a quiet and introverted person, but it has brought me out of my comfort zone. I have found that when women come together powerful and inspiring things can happen.
"I am still coming to terms with the fact that I get stopped in the streets by women thanking me for initiating the group... it's rewarding to know that I have been able to engage women and help show them the way towards something new and inspiring."
Ms Qantrell said that RWoPS was borne out of an idea from a NSW Women's Week scholarship announcement which was promoted by the Port Stephens Women in Business in March 2019.
"I wanted to initiate a movement that was both positive and uplifting... an opportunity for Port Stephens women to connect through inspiring stories, images, services, social gatherings, support groups, friend networks and whatever else women saw fit," she said.
"It is our intention to celebrate the achievements of women as well as to build community support in a positive and collaborative way. At our first luncheon held at Evviva in Nelson Bay we had 30 women attend, many of whom had never meet each other before."
Ms Quantrell said that the group was open to women of all ages and from all walks of life with an emphasis on health and well-being.
"I want it to be a very relaxed forum featuring inspiring stories, things to do and places to connect with because I believe we all have a story to tell. And of course we want to enjoy some laughs along the way."
She said she also hoped to promote gender equality. "I understand that it can be difficult for some women to open up and connect. There are support mechanisms out there which can be shared."
Her publication tells the stories of 10 inspirational women from Port Stephens; featured a list of support organisation for women and families in the Port; as well as hints and tips in areas such as women's health, pregnancy and birth and women in the workplace.
