Ian Jones, president of the Tilligerry Auto Club which organises the annual motorama, handed cheque for $13,000 to Kiera Wray, the fundraising officer at John Hunter Children's Hospital, at a presentation dinner at Club Lemon Tree on August 10.
The funds will be used by the Paediatric Oncology Unit of the John Hunter Children's Hospital.
"The Tilligerry Motorama is not only a terrific community event but it is also a fundraising event. That's why we say it's our passion for charity," Mr Jones said.
"The Tilligerry Auto Club would like to acknowledge the support of the many organisations and businesses who have given their time, financial support or goods and services to make it all happen.
"And of course a big, big thank you to all the participants - the clubs and privateers - who have brought their vehicles along to make Tilligerry Motorama such a success.
"A great thank you to our major sponsor, Club Lemon Tree, and also our other sponsors Shannons Insurance, Australian Street Machine Association, Community Radio Station Port Stephens FM 100.9, BP Salt Ash, the Tilligerry RSL Sports Club for their on going support and use of their grounds and Tilligerry Lions Club for cooking up a storm to feed to people.
"Thanks also to all the volunteers who have been integral to the organisation of this event and of course to the people of Port Stephens and Tilligerry Peninsula for supporting this event."
In the past 14 years, the motorama has raised more than $148,000 for charity.
