Outstanding Port Stephens junior athlete Grace Hewitt continues her amazing year with selection to compete at the 2019 Australian All Schools Championships in Perth in December.

Back in March, Grace competed for Fingal Beach Surf Life Saving Club at state where she won the beach sprint title then travelled to the Gold Coast to win gold in the same event at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships.
Grace then moved on to track events and competed for her school, Hunter Valley Grammar, to win both the 100 metre and 200 metre sprint events at the Combined Independent Schools carnival.
She backed up four days later at the NSW All Schools Athletics Championships in Sydney and picked up silver in the under-16 years 100 metres with a time of 11.08 and silver in the 200 metres in 24.59.
The top two athletes in those events qualified for the Australian All Schools Championships, which will be held in Perth from December 6-8.
Grace will travel to Perth to compete at the highest level.
TOMAREE Triathlon Club held its second round of events for their season on Sunday, October 13, which saw a terrific roll up of 70 competitors.
The short course - a 250 metre swim, 11 kilometre bike ride and 3km run - was won by Maitland's Jett Campbell from Tomaree member Cal Cotter. In the ladies course, Louise Cotter won from Katherine Parker.
The long course - 500m swim, 22km bike and 6km run - was won by Newcastle Tri Club's Brooke Taylor in 1hr and 2 minutes. Second in 1h and 8m was Blake Parker.
Visiting pro athlete Holly Khan won the ladies section from Nichole Dean.
Tomaree Tri Club is now working on building their junior base and would like to invite new members to come and try their tri in the near future.
Round three of the series is on Sunday, November 10.
NELSON Bay Golf Club held its match play championship final on Sunday.
The A-grade result went to Wayne Mitchell who defeated Will Semmens 5/4.
The B-grade final was a close contest with Peter Courts winning 2 up over Robert Connor.
C-grade teenage talent Zac Semmens won the C match play title on a forfeit.
In the pennant series both the club's B and C-grades advanced to the finals.
B-grade had a 3-3 result against Hawks Nest Golf Club while C-grade won 4-2 against Hawks Nest.
The winners from the Bay were Blair Gibson, who remained undefeated throughout the series, Warren Noble, Ray Carruthers, and Graham Brown.
