Nelson Bay Cricket Club held its annual Mark Palmer Memorial 7s Day on February 21 with all funds raised going to the club's scholarship program, named after Palmer, to assist under 16 cricketers.

Winner of the A-grade 7s in the final were the Nurtles over Purple Heads. In B-grade, Gary Johnson's seven were to strong for the Tail Ends.
In competition cricket, only one Bay team had a game last Saturday. Wash outs have affected the previous four weekends.
The Makos' fourth division team were too strong for Maryland Tavern with a terrific batting display by the top order, 7-149, and a strong bowling effort by the Bay with Maryland all out for 60.
Dave Conner made 22, Bryce Causley 39 and Ross Turnbull 33.
Ball opening bowler Chris Gilvear was on target with 4-10 and Ben Thompson 2-15.
The Makos will have its three teams in semi finals in a rain disrupted season with one game remaining.
