The popular Nelson Bay community Christmas event opened with performances from school children, dance and music academies before Santa stopped by to sing a few tunes.
Hope Unlimited Church performers singing carols and fireworks rounded out the evening.
Anna Bay's Hope UC hosted the carols on behalf of the Combined Churches of the Tomaree Peninsula.
Sunday's event had an extra festive air as it was the first major event to be staged in Nelson Bay since the public began living with COVID-19. Without being directed to, attendees naturally spread themselves out in the park to enjoy the festivities.
Attendees to Carols at the Bay were required to check in and small bottles of hand sanitiser were made available to patrons.
More to come.
