A huge program of events has been created to celebrate the NSW Seniors Festival in Port Stephens from Friday which will include aqua aerobics, movie screenings, rock 'n' roll dance lessons, walks, talks and more.

Activities for the Port's seniors have been scheduled locally throughout the state-wide festival's dates of Friday, March 25 to Sunday, April 3.
During the festival on Tuesday, March 29, Port Stephens Council will launch its Better With Age directory, which the community is invited to attend.
"Come along and learn about our brand new directory - an informative guide for our seniors community," Brock Lamont, the council's strategy and environment section manager, said.
"It's full of services and things to do to increase community connection in the seniors' population, and features four stories from seniors in Port Stephens that contribute to the community in a variety of ways.
"Better With Age instils a sense of wonder regarding the diverse nature of our community to encourage seniors to get out and enjoy life to improve wellbeing.
"You'll also hear inspiring stories from three local seniors and enjoy a complimentary morning tea."

The launch will take place in the council chambers in Raymond Terrace from 10am-11.15am. The cost to attend is free but bookings are required via (02) 4988 0900.
Available throughout the festival will be free viewing of the Nelson Bay Inner Light Museum, which is marking its 150th anniversary on April 1 with an event that the public is invited to attend, and visits to the Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary. Concession tickets cost $17.
Aqua Aerobics will be held at the Port's three aquatic centres throughout the week; there will be free talks, tours, stalls and workshops at Hunter Region Botanic Gardens from 9.30am on March 28; Rock 'n' Roll dance lessons at Wests Nelson Bay Diggers from 7pm on March 29 and March 30 (cost $4 per person); tech programs at the Tomare and Raymond Terrace libraries on March 31 and; a seniors concert at Soldiers Point Bowling Club by the SeaSide Singers community choir on April 2.
The cost to attend the SeaSide Singers seniors concert is a gold coin donation. Bookings are required via (02) 4982 7173 or 0412 181 043). The concert for those aged 60 plus begins at 2pm.
Also in the festival program is strength and balance classes at Toogee Martial Arts in Raymond Terrace from 8am-9am on March 28 and 30. The cost is $10 per participant. Phone 0418 170 008 to book a space.
The Men's Health Education Rural Van will visit Raymond Terrace on March 31 and April 1 to provide free health check-ups for men. Services include blood pressure, blood sugar levels and cholesterol checks. The service has been provided by the Rotary clubs of Raymond Terrace and Warners Bay.
