Constable Coyle said in the last month nine people had been caught drink driving in Karuah, Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest.
"The dangers of drink driving speak for themselves," he said.
"Not only are you putting yourself at risk but also the other road users."
Of the nine people caught, six were high range, one was mid range, one was low range and another special range.
Constable Coyle said the public needed to be aware that every police car had the ability to breath test anywhere, any time,
"You'll get caught," he said.
"There seems to be a perception that in the early hours of the night or in the back streets you can't get caught - but you can and you will."
