The Corlette Parks, Reserves and Landcare Group is behind the project, which is part of Planet Ark's planting day.
The group has invited community members to get their hands dirty between 9am and noon on Saturday by helping to plant a large range of Australian natives in the reserve.
"This event is the perfect opportunity for the local community to connect with nature," president of the group, Richard Davis, said.
"Local gardening volunteers will provide expert advice on what to plant in the local area."
Students from St Philip's Christian College and Tomaree High School will help by planting native trees and shrubs.
They will be supported by representatives from Soldiers Point Rural Fire Service and Bunnings.
All who get involved will plant a wide variety of natives, including Sydney peppermint, old man banksia, apple berry, wedding bush and kangaroo grass.
As a way of saying thanks to those who have volunteered their time, the Lions Club will provide a free sausage sizzle and drink.
Lorikeet Reserve is near the corner of Spinnaker Way and Windward Close.
