Five-year-old Shoal Bay champion Sam Viles, fishing with his dad, Chris, was pulled down the beach by a thumping 2.5 kilogram flathead.
Sam tossed out again and caught another one.
Also on the prowl just off the shoreline are tailor, salmon, bream and the occasional shark or two.
It's all action on Fingal following the huge mullet run.
Commercial fisher are now targeting bream, which means that the fish will appear, fresh as daisies, in our local seafood outlets.

Take a walk along the breakwall right now and you will see rods bending from one end of the wall to the other.
Watch the fishers closely and take note of their gear, bait and technique then give it a go.
Fishing for luderick is great fun and at this time of year your chances of success are very good.
Big bream have also joined in the party.
