Fingal Beach Surf Life Saving Club youth co-ordinator and director of surf sports Eddy Bergsma will start extra training sessions for club members and bronze participants in swim, board and ski sports from under-14 through to 90 year olds on Sunday morning.

The squads are for boys and girls to transition from the juniors to the senior ranks. The action starts at 7.30am. The Fingal club is currently taking registrations for both nipper and senior members.
Raymond Terrace Junior Rugby League has a history of producing quality footballers, and that was on show in Wagga Wagga last Friday.
Former Terrace juniors Peter Mata'utia and Luke Higgins lined up with the NSW Country under-23 team in Wagga. Mata'utia had a successful season with the Newcastle Knights this year.
The country boys showed plenty of commitment in a tough assignment playing a team with giant forwards including Josh Papalii, Frank Pritchard, Leeson Ah Mau and Joey Leilua. They went down 40-23. The county team now play Scotland in Ballina. Mata'utia, after his World Cup campaign, heads to England to play for the Leigh Centurions.
Fingal Bay Rugby League Club have wrapped up their very successful season after back-to-back titles.
The club held their AGM recently. Once again, Stuart McDonald will be the president. Secretary will be Ritchie Pese, treasurer Di Smyth and Murray Waugh and George McDonald vice presidents.
The Bomboras will field a ladies tag team next season, which has attracted plenty of interest. The club was saddened this week to hear of the passing of foundation secretary Div Aitchison who was a vital part of the club’s early success. Condolences to his family and friends.
