Talon Pepper has become the 1st Nelson Bay Sea Scouts' fourth ever member to receive the prestigious Queens Scout Award in its 68-year-history.

The award is the pinnacle in Scouting and is a significant achievement. It is awarded to is a Venturer Scout (aged 16-18) who, having been trained in Scoutcraft, "places that training at the disposal of the community for public service".
For his achievement, Talon was honoured at the Nelson Bay Scout Hall on March 25 but will travel to Government House in Sydney in the coming weeks to receive his Royal Certificate from the Governor and Chief Scout of NSW.
1st Nelson Bay Sea Scouts is an active group that regularly conducts outdoor adventurous activities including camping, fishing, hiking, snorkelling, canoeing and dinghy sailing.
