The national event will draw 110 of the finest hillclimb racers to the East Seaham track between today, October 30, and Sunday, November 2. Many more are anticipated to turn out and watch.
Victorian Brett Hayward holds the lap record on the newly extended, 720-metre long track.
On July 6 this year Hayward did the fastest lap to date - 35.13 seconds.
It will be the time to beat at the championship event, which Hayward, along with several other notable hillclimbers, will attend.
Peter Robinson, from the Newcastle MG Car Club, whose home is the Ringwood Motor Sport Complex, said 2013 hillclimb champion Greg Ackland, along with Hayward, who won the state title earlier this year, were the ones to watch, as were Malcolm Oastler, Doug Barry, a 2012 state champion, Dean Amos, Alan Foley, Bill Norman, Ron Hay and Warwick Hutchinson.
Ringwood Motor Sport Complex is in Italia Road at East Seaham.
