The state’s peak motoring body only earlier this month highlighted a price disparity between Nelson Bay and Williamtown.
There was a 20 cent price difference between the dearest Raymond Terrace service station ($1.47) and the cheapest at Heatherbrae ($1.26), for 91 octane unleaded petrol, on Wednesday morning.
That’s a difference of $15 on a 70 litre purchase.
“As always we urge people to shop around,” NRMA spokesman Peter Khoury said, pointing to the mynrma smartphone app.
“When you’re talking about a 20 cent difference the savings add up.”
The NRMA monitors 40 locations statewide for average fuel prices, at places like Newcastle and Maitland.
At a glance, the NRMA said Raymond Terrace prices were on par with prices elsewhere in the state on Wednesday.
“Raymond Terrace is in the middle, Albury is $1.35, Armidale $1.38, Newcastle a $1.40 and Maitland $1.39,” Mr Khoury said.
“We’re hopeful for a little relief with world oil prices easing but nothing major,” Mr Khoury said.
“Hopefully we’ll see prices ease by a couple of cents a litre in the next fortnight.”

Fuel apps worth the effort?
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says ‘yes’.
“For those seeking to save money a little effort can see large savings,” ACCC chairman Rod Sims said.
"Our advice for those looking to save even more, say 15 to 20 cents per litre, or $9 to 12 a tank, is to time your purchases.
“Use fuel price transparency apps or websites to find the most competitive fuel price near you. There can be significant price differences between sites at different points in the price cycle, so motorists that shop around can save themselves a lot of money.”
