Work on upgrading a busy Williamtown intersection will begin on February 11, and is expected to take five months to complete.
Port Stephens Council will carry out stage two of works at the Nelson Bay and Medowie roads intersection on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services.
The work includes improving the alignment of the roundabout westbound, lengthening and providing additional turning lanes, providing off-road cycle paths, and building footpaths and kerb ramps for pedestrians.
Work will be carried out between 8.30am and 6.30pm from Monday to Friday and between 7am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday and is expected to be completed in five months, weather permitting.
Night work will also be required.
There will be some temporary traffic changes, RMS said. Traffic conditions can be viewed online at livetraffic.com.
