There were smiles all round at Shoal Bay Country Club last Wednesday where close to 450 people from the Port Stephens business community turned out to celebrate their achievements of the past year at the Examiner's 2019 Annual Business Awards.

Business owners, their staff and supporters who attended the dinner and presentation championed each another with cheers and applause as each category winner was announced.
Nursing recruitment agency Nurses Now from Raymond Terrace won the health and medical gong early in the night and was later announced to be the Overall Business of the Year.
Totally Workwear Port Stephens and Century 21 Curtis and Blair won two awards each on the night. The Salamander Bay-based Totally Workwear team won the men's and women's fashion or footwear category while the Medowie-based Century 21 won the sales and property management sales categories.
Salamander Village Florist made it five years in a row to win the Florist/Nursery category while Greater Bank Raymond Terrace claimed a fourth consecutive award in the Financial Services category.
Two Bobs Bakery in Nelson Bay won the new business (first year) award.
The Examiner's long running awards recognise business excellence in Port Stephens.
Each year the Examiner asks the residents and visitors to the local government area to nominate their favourite businesses, or those that go above and beyond to deliver exceptional customer service, in the awards.
About 7000 individual votes were counted and more than 400 businesses were nominated in this year's awards.
