The Magpies men's team will be coached by club stalwart Brooke Roach. He will have a quality assistant coach this season in Luke Handsaker, who has more than 200 games under his belt. Using his vast knowledge of the game to assist the young guns coming through this season, Luke, who has played in every position in the back line, will be a valuable asset to the Magpies.
Coach Roach has retained his forward front row rotation of Liam Power, John Schultz and Nick Johns to gain the hard yards up front. Lakeside Tavern continues their massive support for the club.
The Ravens ladies league tag team will have the father and daughter combo of Paul and Maddie Marquet at the helm. The pair are ready for another busy season.
Paul has a wealth of rugby league knowledge. He had a stellar career playing 231 games for the Newcastle Knights, Hunter Mariners, Melbourne Storm and Warrington Wolves. He won premierships with Storm in 1999 and Knights in 2001.
PORT Stephens Oztag is ready to roll for 2022.
The Raymond Terrace teams will start on Wednesday, January 12 at Lakeside Sporting Complex while the Nelson Bay competition is set down to start on Monday, January 17 at Salamander sportsground. The Bay will field 10 mixed teams. Raymond Terrace are set to field 26 teams across three divisions: seniors, senior mixed and junior mixed.
The state championships will be held at Coffs Harbour in June. The junior state championship will be held June 1-5 and seniors June 24-26.
Port Stephens Oztag will host representative trials on January 30 at Lakeside. The Port Stephens Bandits are seeking coaches and managers for representative fixtures.

FINGAL Bay Rugby League Club will kick off their 2022 campaign on February 1 when training picks up at Fingal Oval.
The men's team will have the experienced coaching duo of Dean Carney and John Gutherson back on board. Head trainer Gary Briggs and manager Len Warburton will continue to do their valuable work behind the scenes.
The Bomboras have retained the bulk of the the 2021 squad with several senior players having second thoughts on retirement plans. The club looks certain to field a competitive team.
The ladies league tag team will start training at 6pm on January 20 adjacent to the Fingal surf club. Blaine O'Flaherty will once again coach the side with valuable assistance from trainer Neil Parfitt.
The club hopes to hold their COVID delayed presentation night with the season launch in mid-February.
