Daniel Harris and sister Sarah Mulholland, whose family own the Medowie property in which the Little Tin Shed's fresh fruit and flowers are grown, have supplied thousands of flowers to florists across the region ahead of February 14.
But they were expecting to be extremely busy selling bunches of their flowers out of the Little Tin Shed across the weekend and on Monday due to the rise in popularity of buying locally and direct from the source.
"Every special occasion we are really busy," Mr Harris said. "Because we grow our own we can provide high quality flowers quickly, and at competitive prices.
"We've had a lot of interest from local florists who need fresh flowers and from the general public who want to support local."
So popular has the Little Tin Shed's flowers become in recent years - from selling a few chrysanthemums on Mother's Day to now supplying florists and clearing thousands of stems a month - that the family host 'pick your own' days.
Rain has meant they have been unable to host a self-picking event for Valentine's Day, but Mrs Mulholland said there are more in the pipeline for 2022. She added that even more flowers, up to seven varities, will be planted on the property this year.
The Little Tin Shed, located off Medowie Road, have sunflowers, mixed bunches and everlasting flowers (with paper daisies and and zinnias) for sale for Valentine's Day, priced between $20-$25.
The small family business is run by Mrs Harris, wife Karli and Mrs Mulholland with help from father Graham Harris.
Little Tin Shed uses an honesty box system for its sales.
