Police have renewed the appeal for public assistance after a bicycle rider was injured in a fail-to-stop crash north of Raymond Terrace at the weekend.
About 1am on Saturday, June 16, a 17-year-old cyclist was riding with two others on Cross Street, Seaham.
Near the intersection of Clarence Town Road, the teenager was hit from behind by a dark-coloured 4WD, which allegedly failed to stop.
The 17-year-old boy was taken to Maitland Hospital with serious head injuries and later conveyed to John Hunter Hospital the following day for emergency surgery, where he remains in a stable condition.
Officers from Port Stephens/Hunter Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page.
