The event, organised by the Newcastle Neptunes Underwater Club, will be staged at Nelson Bay's foreshore from Friday, April 19 to Sunday, April 21.
Friday's event will be a social stand-alone competition.
The individual title event is held across Saturday and Sunday. The four man teams event is on Saturday, the pairs event on Sunday.
All contestants require Australian Underwater Federation membership.
Event schedule is as follows:
Friday
9am: Sign on at control centre (just east of D'Albora Marina on Victoria Parade)
11am: Safety instruction and personal safety gear checks
12pm-4pm: Competition - mystery teams, day one of big fish competition
Saturday
8am-3pm: Competition - day one open championships, age category championships, four man team championships, day two big fish competition
Sunday
8am-2pm: Competition - day two open championships, age category championships, pairs championships, day three big fish competition
