However, it didn't take long for Sami's energetic performance and bubbly personality to win over Hunter music punters.
The 23-year old's debut album Every Passing Minute was released in 2013. She followed it up with Crazy Love in 2018.
On Crazy Love Sami worked with several songwriters, including Sydney's Steve Deal and Newcastle duo Dane Baldwin and Troy Kemp.

These days Sami performs gigs throughout the Hunter and Central Coast while juggling her Bachelor of Communication degree, majoring in journalism and media production, Newcastle University.
See Sami perform at Nelson Bay Bowling Club on Friday, April 12 from 6.45pm.
