April 25 in Nelson Bay, Raymond Terrace and Karuah commenced with emotion-charged and touching dawn services conducted at war memorials under the rising sun. The Karuah service paid tribute to RAAF veterans Graeme Parker and Reg Cowling who died in a tragic car crash earlier in April.
