The centre is part of Port Stephens Veterans and Citizens Aged Care, better known as Harbourside Haven.
The not-for profit organisation uses the centre at 33 King Albert Avenue, Tanilba Bay, for respite care.
Some may remember the centre opening last year, however a lack of funding and high costs saw the doors close soon after.
Thankfully the Department of Health has provided some funding for 2014/15, allowing the centre to reopen two days a week to provide a place for the elderly to come with their carers, who are often in desperate need of a break.
"Everyone is welcome from 10am onwards," marketing co-ordinator Claudia Tipping said.
"The activities will be run as usual, free for inspection.
"A free morning tea and barbecue will be provided."
The centre is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, costing participants $10. There is a free community bus for transport and morning tea, lunch, activities and outings are included in the cost.
