The band made up with Brian Nichol (lead vocals, guitar) and Geoff Turner (bass guitar), plus Brent Dehn (lead guitar) and Mark Lucas (drums) entertained the large crowd packed into the Shoal Bay hotel late into Saturday night.
It is estimated that more than 1000 people turned out to the club for the gig – more than the amount of people who turned out for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Shoal Bay Country Club are offering free live music each Saturday throughout January. Musicians and DJs will perform in different areas of the hotel from 1pm to late.
The Radiators’ performance was one of the first big free gigs the club has offered since it underwent a makeover – the largest transformation it has undergone since the 1930s. And, it will not be the last.
The hotel is hinting on social media that there will be further “big free shows” in the future. An announcement on who will be playing these gigs has not been made.
